कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष राहुल गांधी ने मेघालय में चुनाव प्रचार अभियान की शुरूआत कर दी है। अपने प्रचार की शुरुआत में ही राहुल गांधी ने बीजेपी सरकार को आड़े-हाथों लिया है।
मेघालय में राहुल गांधी ने कहा, 'हम आरएसएस की विचारधार से पूरे देश में लड़ाई कर रहे हैं। हमारे देश पर एक विचारधार थोपी जा रही है। बीजेपी और आरएसएस पूरे देश में क्या कर रही है और विशेष रूप से नॉर्थ-ईस्ट में आपकी संस्कृति को कमजोर करने का प्रयास केंद्र सरकार कर रही है।'

आगे बोलते हुए राहुल ने कहा 'कांग्रेस सरकार ने नॉर्थ-ईस्ट में सबसे ज्यादा काम मर्द और औरतों की जनसंख्या का भेद खत्म करने पर करना होगा। मैं मेघालय में महिलाओं से अनुरोध करता हूं कि वह कांग्रेस पार्टी जॉइन करें।'

कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष ने जीएसटी विवाद को भुनाते हुए कहा 'अगर हम सरकार में आते हैं तो हम जीएसटी का ढांचा बदल देंगे और इसे आसान कर देंगे।'

राहुल ने कहा, 'आरएसएस की विचारधारा में महिलाओं की अनदेखी की जाती है। क्या किसी को पता है कि आरएसएस में कितने मुख्य पद महिलाओं के पास है? जीरो। अगर आप महात्मा गांधी की तस्वीर देखोगे तो आपको उनके आसपास महिलाएं नजर आएंगी, लेकिन मोहन भागवत में तस्वीर में कौन नजर आता है? वह अकेले नजर आते हैं या चारों तरफ सिर्फ मर्द नजर आते हैं।'
